Teen arrested after brushing against woman in North Charleston apartment

A teenager was arrested Sunday after he shot into an apartment on Fairwinds Drive and the bullet grazed a woman inside, the North Charleston Police Department reported.

The shooting happened just after 5 p.m. When officers arrived, they saw the suspect walking around the back of the apartment, and that’s where police arrested him, according to a post from the North Charleston Police Department.

The officers were then able to find a .40 caliber handgun and the associated bullet in the couch of the apartment. The juvenile is charged with possession of a firearm by a person under 18 years of age.

The victim’s wound was superficial and she did not require medical attention, police said.
