BG man charged with assault in city center after allegedly punching man multiple times – BG Independent News

A Bowling Green man was arrested on assault charges Saturday (Sept. 28) after he allegedly punched a man downtown.

BG Police responded to the 100 block of North Main Street around 12:53 a.m. and found a disoriented man lying on the sidewalk. Bar staff told police the man had been hit multiple times.

A witness told police she knew the man and police were able to identify the man based on camera footage from downtown. The video reportedly showed 22-year-old Evan Strifler punching the other man five times before running south on North Main Street and then east on East Wooster Street while allegedly trying to cover his face cover up.

Police found Strifler at his apartment and took him to the Wood County Jail.
