The ransomware attack on UMC Hospital in Lubbock continues. Here’s what you need to know

University Medical Center was still experiencing an IT outage Sunday caused by a ransomware attack that is said to have forced the hospital to divert patients to other local hospitals and clinics since last Thursday. The ransomware attack was first reported Thursday morning and is still impacting hospital operations, according to UMC’s websites. UMC said employees are working 24/7 and are working with a third party to return to normal operations; However, there is no time frame for when this might happen.
