Joe Burrow talks about the brief injury scare against the Panthers

The last thing Cincinnati Bengals fans wanted to see as the team hoped to avoid an 0-4 start on Sunday was Joe Burrow hobbling across the field.

But that’s exactly what happened on the first drive of the game when Burrow limped.

When reviewing the broadcast, it appeared that Burrow was kicked by guard Cordell Volson during a routine play. He also didn’t appear to receive any medical attention on the sidelines.

Burrow returned shortly after and confirmed after the game that he was kicked, brushing aside any concerns: “I got kicked. That didn’t feel great. But nothing crazy. We’ll see what it looks like tomorrow. Maybe a little hurt, but nothing crazy.”

Oddly enough, Burrow wasn’t sacked the entire time, which is one of the rare occurrences in his career. He threw for 232 yards and two scores and, even after the injury scare, had some important game-winning problems on the way to the 34:24 victory.
