WEIRTON – Weirton police are continuing their investigation into a fatal shooting Saturday morning downtown.

Taylor M. Albert, 30, was found dead of a gunshot wound after officers responded to a call at 3025 Elm St. around 4:50 a.m. Saturday, according to information provided by Police Chief Charlie Kush.

Officers were called to the scene for a medical emergency call and upon arrival reported witnessing Jordan Lee Pager, 32, exiting the home while yelling at emergency personnel while holding a handgun.

Pager was confronted by law enforcement, who ordered him to drop the pistol. When Pager didn’t comply, officers subdued him with a Taser, according to the report.

Pager was booked into the West Virginia Northern Regional Jail Saturday afternoon, where he was listed as being held without bail on Sunday. He faces a charge of first-degree murder.

The investigation revealed that no one else was in the apartment.

Kush said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed.

The Weirton Police Department was assisted at the scene by West Virginia State Police and Hancock County Ambulance.
