One is injured in a shooting in Roanoke City

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – City of Roanoke officials confirm a shooting that left one person injured Saturday evening in the 3400 block of Bennett Drive NW.

According to officials, the person was shot in the leg around 8:41 p.m.

They could not confirm the victim’s identity, but authorities said the injuries were not life-threatening. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Details of the investigation remain limited.

Community members are encouraged to report suspicious activity to Roanoke City Police.
