Denver Broncos running back Tyler Badie is OK after a scary injury in Week 4.

Denver Broncos running back Tyler Badie is OK after a scary injury in Week 4.

During the Denver Broncos’ 10-9 win over the New York Jets on Sunday, fans witnessed what appeared to be a horrific injury to running back Tyler Badie.

Late in the first quarter and facing a 3rd-and-13, Bo Nix threw a short pass to Badie as he slid out of the backfield. But he blocked a shot from linebacker Quincy Williams to the lower back. Badie coughed up the ball on the play and the Jets recovered.

Badie was able to leave the field but was then shown being processed on the sideline behind the bench. He reportedly collapsed on the sidelines.

It was certainly a scary scene, but after the game, sources said he was OK without giving away too many details.

The injury cast a dark shadow over the win, but the hope is that he will be fine and make a full recovery. The Broncos appeared to have a plan to get Badie involved early, as he got a few touches in the first quarter of the rained out game.

It remains to be seen how much time, if any, Badie will miss, but his health is of course paramount.
