Tragic accident: Woman killed when smuggler’s car hits innocent victims in Kota | Jaipur News

Kota: A woman was killed and three others injured when poppy husk smugglers hit them with their car while they were trying to escape near one Police checkpoint at Deoli Manjhi village in Kota district on Saturday.
Police arrested two people named Vikram Vishnoi (24) and Ramesh Vishnoi (21), residents of Jodhpur. The police recovered 44 kg of poppy seed husks packed in plastic bags from the car.
Police booked the accused under sections of the NDPS Act and produced them before the court on Sunday, which ordered the two accused to be handed over to the police for questioning. Deoli-Manjhi SHO Suresh Meena said the driver reversed the car at a brilliant speed after noticing a police team, hitting a car and a two-wheeler. Four people named Anita Kumari (30), Soniya (35), her son Kabir (six) and Chirag (2.5 years) sustained injuries in the mishap and were rushed to the hospital where Anita succumbed to her injuries. Police have set up a negligent driving unit against the driver, he added. tnn
