Senator Britt: Democrats use IVF access as “scaremongering”

Democrats are using access to in vitro fertilization “as a scare tactic,” Sen. Katie Britt, R-Ala., told “Fox News Sunday.”

“Senator Ted Cruz and I wrote a letter signed by all 49 Republican senators saying they strongly support nationwide access to IVF,” Britt said. “And the truth is that Democrats continue to use this issue as scaremongering because IVF is legal and accessible in all 50 states. And.” [former] president [Donald] Trump has made it clear that he will continue to ensure that this is the case.”

When asked why she voted against an IVF bill from Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., Britt replied that it was a “show vote” and that the bill “also addresses the human cloning.”

In an emailed statement, Democratic National Committee spokeswoman Aida Ross responded to The Hill when asked whether Senate Republicans voted against the IVF bill introduced by Schumer: “As Donald Trump’s MAGA lackeys in the Senate had the chance to protect IVF access for those who wanted it.” To start or expand their families, they voted against it – including JD Vance.

“Trump is the reason IVF is at risk in the first place, and the American people are not falling for his MAGA minions’ desperate attempt to cover for his extreme anti-choice Project 2025 agenda.”
