The violations and crimes committed by the Israeli regime must not go unanswered, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stressed at a cabinet meeting on Sunday.

Addressing Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah’s martyrdom in an Israeli assassination attempt, Pezeshkian said: “Such a crime proves once again that this criminal regime does not adhere to international standards and frameworks.”

“The claims of the leaders of the US and EU countries who have promised a ceasefire in return for Iran’s non-response to the assassination of the martyr [Ismail] Haniyeh, those were all lies. Giving such criminals a chance will only encourage them to commit more crimes,” he stressed.

The Iranian president also strongly condemned “Israel’s” recent aggression against Yemen.

Pezeshkian reiterated Iran’s call for Islamic countries to take a firm stance and not remain indifferent to the crimes committed by “Israel,” adding that “the Lebanese fighters and mujahideen should not be left alone in this fight.”

He also warned that the Israeli regime would continue its attacks on countries within the axis of resistance and kill more innocent women and children.

He mentioned that assassinating leaders of resistance movements such as Hezbollah proved unsuccessful as the power vacuum was quickly filled by their comrades.

The Iranian president concluded that the Iranian Ministry of Health is fully ready to provide Lebanon with all the medical assistance it needs in light of the ongoing Israeli aggression against the country.

The killing of Nilforushan will not go unanswered

Earlier on Sunday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi promised that “Israel’s” assassination of Brigadier General Abbas Nilforushan, the IRGC’s deputy commander for operations, would not go unanswered.

According to an IRGC statement, General Nilforushan was killed in an Israeli bombing in Beirut on Friday along with Hezbollah leader, martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

In a letter to IRGC Commander-in-Chief Major General Hossein Salami, Araghchi stressed that “this evil and cowardly act is another clear sign of the terrorist and criminal character of the Zionist regime and its known supporters.”

“Without a doubt, this terrible crime committed by the aggressor Zionist regime will not go unanswered,” he said, promising that Iran’s diplomatic apparatus would use all its political, diplomatic, legal and international powers to pursue “the criminals and their supporters.” “
