Mohamed Al Fayed “sexually assaulted a diplomat’s daughter on a yacht”

A diplomat complained to ministers after Mohamed Al Fayed allegedly sexually abused his daughter and locked her on a yacht 35 years ago.

The disgraced billionaire, who died last year aged 94, is believed to have carried out the attack in 1989. Al Fayed is then said to have held the woman in a hut off the coast of southern France for 36 hours.

Al Fayed, who was born in Egypt, had campaigned for a British passport, but his campaign collapsed when the envoy complained to the government and an investigation by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) attacked his character, according to the Mail on Sunday reported.

The latest claim comes days after a BBC documentary identified 20 alleged victims of the tycoon, five of whom make the claim
