Lindale man jailed for violent attack on woman in front of children

Jeffery Raiden Smith, 28, of Lindale, was arrested this week after he reportedly attacked a 25-year-old woman in front of her children and threatened to kill her.

Smith is accused of grabbing and twisting the victim’s arm in front of the children. He then grabbed the victim by her hair and dragged her into the bedroom, where he told a 7-year-old child to get out of the room because he would “kill that piece.”

Police also said that when the victim grabbed a phone to call 911 for help, Smith took it from her and threw it out of reach.

Smith is charged with battery, 5 counts 3^approx Degree of cruelty to children, 1^st Degree of cruelty to children, terrorist threats/acts and obstruction of a person making an emergency call.
