Westminster man charged with aggravated assault

WESTMINSTER – A Westminster man was arrested Saturday evening on charges of second-degree aggravated domestic violence and criminal threats, according to Vermont State Police.

Around 5 p.m., police responded to a 911 call reporting a family dispute at a residence on Piggery Road.

The investigation revealed that 42-year-old Robert A. Lawrence had physically assaulted another household member.

Lawrence was taken into custody and processed at the Westminster State Police Barracks.

He is currently being held without bail at the Southern State Correctional Facility.

Lawrence is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division at 12:30 p.m. Monday to answer the charges.
