Telangana folk singer accused of sexually assaulting a colleague

Hyderabad: A case of sexual assault has been lodged against Telangana folk singer and cultural committee employee Mallik Tej. The complaint was lodged by another folk singer at Jagityal police station.

According to the reports, the victim alleged that the accused raped her repeatedly and exploited her trust with false promises. She further claims that he constantly blackmailed and harassed her, both in person and on the phone.

The victim also mentioned in her complaint that the accused had insulted her and her family members.

Furthermore, she accused him of psychologically harassing her by changing the passwords of her YouTube channel and Instagram account. She also reported that he sexually abused her multiple times in his studio.

A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.

Earlier, choreographer Shaik Jani Basha, popularly known as Jani Master, was arrested after he was accused of sexually assaulting a colleague

The 21-year-old victim, who was 16 in 2019 when the alleged attacks began, lodged a complaint at Raidurgam police station on September 11 in a sealed case.

The victim alleged that Jani had been harassing and sexually abusing her for the last six years since she started working with him.

She alleged that Basha exploited and sexually assaulted her on every shoot or whenever the opportunity arose.
