Man dead after stabbing in Scarborough

A man died after being stabbed in Scarborough on Saturday evening, Toronto police said.

Police and emergency services were dispatched to 20 Brimwood Blvd. called. near Brimley Road and Finch Avenue East about 6:45 p.m. for a stabbing.

service inspector Jeff Bassingthwaite said first responders arrived and administered life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, police said the circumstances leading to the stabbing were unknown.

There is also no information on possible suspects, but Bassingthwaite said police are looking for witnesses.

“We do not believe there is a threat to public safety and we would like to reassure the public that we are doing everything we can to keep the public safe,” Bassingthwaite said.
