Tragic bus accident in Chhattisgarh: One dead, 16 injured

In a tragic incident early Sunday, a private bus rammed into a stationary truck in Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh, killing the driver and injuring 16 passengers, police reported.

The collision occurred near Dhaurabhata village on the Bilaspur-Raipur highway. The bus was on its way from Gaya, Bihar, to Raipur and was carrying 50 people. The impact was serious and resulted in the instant death of 35-year-old driver Ghanshyam Chauhan and injury to 16 others, all residents of Raipur.

A rescue team quickly reached the scene and transported the injured to nearby health centers. Two seriously injured people were later taken to Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences Bilaspur for further treatment. Authorities have registered a case and launched an investigation into the accident.
