Two people taken to hospital after knife attacks

Greater Manchester Police said they did not know the extent of the two men’s injuries in hospital [PA Media]

Two people were taken to hospital for treatment after a knife attack in Salford, police said.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said officers were called to reports of a stabbing on Hawk Road in Irlam at around 2:30pm BST.

Four men between the ages of 14 and 37, including one armed person, were arrested, police said.

GMP said two people remained in custody for questioning, while two others were treated in hospital. It added that the extent of her injuries was not known at this time.

Police said they did not believe there was a major threat to the public and no other suspects were being sought.

GMP appealed to anyone with information to contact police.
