NN man convicted of multiple child abuse offenses for depicting child sexual abuse

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – A Newport News man with multiple prior convictions for child sexual abuse offenses pleaded guilty Sept. 17 to transporting child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

According to court documents, on April 11, 12, and 27, 2023, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) received Cybertipline reports of files containing CSAM uploaded to a Google account.

51-year-old Justus Clay Pease uploaded the photos. He is a registered sex offender who was convicted in Hampton Circuit Court in 2005 of two counts of indecent liberties with a child by a caregiver and one count of indecent liberties with a child in 2007.

In addition to the child sexual abuse material identified in the reports, Pease’s Google Photos account contained additional child sexual abuse files.

Pease is scheduled to be sentenced on January 16, 2025 and faces a mandatory minimum of 15 and up to 40 years in prison.
