Albuquerque –

Albuquerque Police Department officers responded to a vehicle-pedestrian collision around 7:40 p.m. The accident occurred in the 4500 block of 4th St NW, which is near 4th St NW and Bellrose Ave NW.

When APD officers and Albuquerque Fire Rescue arrived, the pedestrian had suffered serious injuries. Rescue 6 transported the injured pedestrian to a local hospital.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian reportedly remained at the scene and, as far as we know, appears to be cooperating with authorities. When the driver called 911, he said he did not see the pedestrian step into the lane.

APD appears to be closing 4th Street in both directions between Bellrose Avenue and San Clemente Avenue.
