Man arrested on domestic violence charges in Plainfield

PLAINFIELD – A local man was arrested on domestic violence charges following a family disturbance in Plainfield, authorities said.

Vermont State Police responded to the incident at a residence on September 25 at approximately 8:21 p.m. The investigation revealed that 48-year-old John Downing had assaulted a member of the household.

Downing was arrested and taken to the Berlin barracks for processing.

He was issued a court order to appear in Washington County Superior Court – Criminal Division on September 30th at 12:30 p.m

Per policy, Vermont State Police have not released the name of the victim of the domestic violence incident.
