MIAMI LAKES, FL. (WSVN) – Florida Highway Patrol Troopers were dispatched to the scene of an accident that led to a deadly chain reaction near Miami Lakes.

The incident occurred around 8:27 p.m. Friday following a three-vehicle crash on southbound State Road 826 in the area of ​​I-75.

FHP said one of the driver’s family members, an adult male, stopped his vehicle in the roadway and blocked a lane, causing two oncoming vehicles to collide with the stopped vehicle.

The vehicles then collided with the man, who was standing outside his vehicle on the shoulder.

The man, who was standing outside his vehicle, was hit in the head and suffered a traumatic brain injury. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The following vehicles were also involved in a chain reaction accident involving a total of around 17 to 20 vehicles.

Southbound State Road 826 was closed during the preliminary investigation but has since reopened.

No other injuries were reported.
